Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Ok, final displacement map question, I SWEAR

Ok, I have looked into some videos and tutorials on displacement maps and how what they do. But know I have created my displacement map and imorpted it into maya and designated it to be a displacement map and all that good stuff. But know, I cant find out how to position it on the model. Is it related to UVs, is it a certain node that controls the placement, what?

Thx in advance,
Ryan

normal way is to use the uvs. However you *can* use a camera projection to do it but you will need to know what you're doing with projections to get it to work.

Start with it in uv space and take it from there.
