Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Yep. Massive is what LOTR TT used to create their battle scenes. Well, I messed with AI Implant, and it kinda sucks. I mean even if you follow the tutorials, It doesn't work right. Oh well.... Time to start my Matchmoving...

Honestly, I have no idea. I have been told it is basically the same thing, but Wetta Did tons of Development and Created Massive. Each of the Characters have thousuands of "if-then" type controls basicaly their own little mind. These statements then controlled animation clips that can be made in Maya, using the Trax editor and stuff... For instance, if one were to shoot an arrow at an enemy and it missed, it would try to redirrect its path for a better shot, they even had characters run away when they got scarred! pretty powerfull software. Massive (like AI is a plugin for Maya. It is used within Maya.

But even the sample scenes that came with AI don't even work right, the characters, just sit there in most of them, and they don't avoid objects. I like using BUGZ (can be downloaded from Highend 3d) alot more than AI, at least they act the way that you would expect them to, but you don't have as many options. THanks,
Be
