cannot find available port

cannot find available port????

New to Maya,

1 major problem -

every time i try and batch render the command feedback reads "cannot find available port". I have searched extensively on ways to resolve but no such luck...

I dont think i can tell you how annoying it is to model, rig a scene, but be unable to view it - please help???

Finally figured it out, thought id post it,

Running maya on a network, disconnected network and works fine
