Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Looking good. I agree about the booleans. I steer away from them. They may give you a result but they do some weird stuff sometimes and remove uv's and stuff like that.

Hmmmm . . . Once you get it built, next thing you will probably want to do is blow it to hell, so if you keep that in mind while your building it . . . . user added image

I still don't see the huge problem with booleans, what do you mean it get's rid of UV's. How is that possible?

Tim

Booleans can do a few strange things as the calculation is huge to cut a hole in geometry using another object. As long as the object is clean and the history hasnt stacked up the boolean op should be fine.

If booleans give you hassle just extrude faces its alot easier in the long run. I never use booleans personally...

Did you get the textures by the way??

Cheers
Jay

I did get the textures by the way, cheers for them.

I have no history and my geo is clean so I think it should be fine....I hope.

Well I will show you this evening what I have done so far. I am trying to make the bridge section as detialed as I can and see how long that takes so I can have a good idea (if there are no problems) how long the whole thing will take me to medel to the standard I want it.

That's the plan.
