Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

can bryce be imported?

Can you import bryce terrains into Maya?

I think bryce has a export to OBJ format option. you can thin inport the obj file in to maya.

Been a while since i used bryce but i think its under file save as> OBJ, or its under file>export-

I think for distance shots its easier to make the foreground in maya(such as a cliff or something) then set the background plane to an image you save in bryce. Ive seen it done with rather good results.
