Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

New Tutorial WIP

Thought i'd post up a first look at our upcoming new tutorial.

This one will be split into 4 volumes the first will be the creation of the scene and everything in it. Next will come something slightly different i've done this scene in Vray, Mentalray and Maxwell so for the lighting and rendering portions of the tutorial you'll be able to pick a tutorial that fits your render engine of choice user added image

There is a bit a tweaking to be done yet and a few obvious errors but i thought some of you might like to see what's upcoming.

PLEASE excuse the low render quality user added image

David,

The scene looks fantastic.
Just one question, when you mention Vray, Mentalray and Maxwell, did you mean the same final render / image is done 3 times but in different renders to show render techniques? Just to confirm.

Thanks user added image

Yes it will be the same final image in three different render engines.

It will be sold separately for people that are interested in only one of the three engines and it will be sold bundled together for people that want to see the difference between the three.

Hope that answers the question.

Looking forward to it.
On the side note, I'm downloading the zbrush dinosaur tutorial.

Well if you've got it flaunt it user added image I'll be adding the MD to the tutorial as well as the modeling, so there will be much more complex objects in the final scene, along with hard surface UV layout in Headus. Laying out UV's for complex hard surface objects in Maya is my idea of hell. I'm sure jay will be along in a second to tell us how relaxing it is, but for me Headus = 30 minutes Maya = 4 hours and i keep having to replace the keyboard after smashing my head into it.

Cheers mate appreciate that. I'd love to add Arnold at some point but it won't be for a while yet user added image

The shot in this thread was just my test shot hopefully the final renders will be a tad more impressive.
