This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

looks good here.

except maybe the area between the thread and the outer part is a little thin and not sinking in much, even for a sports car tire.

EricMattison: Have you tried Yokohama tyres for reference? The AVS ES100 is a particular fave of mine and suits the style you have instead of the above .

yea vlad, im going ot make the sidewall bigger. I worked on the tread and made it smaller so here it is. That piece in the middle is actually the lip to a rim i did before so its not atually part of the tire thats why it looks different. I also noticed i forgot to merge the verts where the bend finished. More to work on

dup = 2 - combine halfs
dup = 4 - combine halfs
dup = 8 - combine halfs
dup = 16 - combine halfs
dup = 32 - Deleted half and then combined which = 24

hahaha so 24 pieces

ok cause when i model tire treads i always duplicate the single tread about 40 times so that they dont look too large when i use the bend modifier to finalize the tire.

Younglion, I have on more question? WHen you duplicated it 50 times, did you merge each individual piece or is there a way to merger them all together all in one. I merged mines indivudually aand it is horrible lol

heres how to merge all at oce
make sure all verts are close to each other pref ontop
shouldnt be hard if u dup correctly

select all an chose combine
click merge verts an options
set dist to 0
in channel box chose mergeverts from that list click it an at the bottom of the list will appear some attributes u can change
tweak the dist to like 0.1 or so by typing or click text an middle mouse drag
turn on border edged to check an that should do it

Now at SMU doing BSc 3D Computer Animation so its hard to get on here
