This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Is it possible to render objects in wireframe with specular highlights?

Hy people!

Is it possible to render objects in wireframe with specular highlights, shadows in a scene with other (non-wire) objects in Maya?
(Like the max render included)

hi sorry there was no reply on this I hadn't seen it. You can achieve that look but it will take a little more work than it does in max (which has a very good wireframe renderer!).

You would have to render a wireframe that occludes the backfaces see the thread in my sig (robotica) and you'll see my wireframes there. That's what I mean. You will then need a beauty render with the spec highlights in. You can then use photoshop to combine the two with the wireframe controlling how much of the the other render you see.

That should work.

Thank you! I'll try this solution.

Anyway, it's crazy that the leading 3d application, Maya, does not have a good wireframe shader.....
