Yeah the improvements to the UV Editor are pretty sexy. The merge vert tool and face loop selection was pretty cool too, though but I found the whole drag selection based on camera feature kinda redundant since the actual paint selection tool does that already. I guess it'll come in handy for symmetrical models in orthographic views /shrug

i looked at the animation layers because thats a feature in xsi :p

animation layers appears to be really really useful

maya just needs a button that saves multiple camera positions now, instead of us having to keyframe them

You said it man, that new UV editor is the bomb. I wish earlier versions had that. You would have thought that they would have focused on that years ago.

Looking forward to it, need to kee my eye out on the Annex for it!

The animation layer s might be a bit of a let down, the main advantage of MB is its in real time where as maya...

I think the new UV tools look great, particularly liked the way he effortlessly sorted out the overlapping UVs around the eye.

The selection based on the camera looks good too. Be nice to quickly drag select without selecting backfaces/edges/verts, so you don't need to jump between having backface culling on and off.

I dunno where or why people say this, crashing in maya is a rare thing for me, I guess Im just patient while it works its 'thang' either that or my machine is stable enough to hack what I throw at it.

yeah Very rare crashes for me too.

Neucleus very very cool stuff based off something really really simple! Solving a spring, hence a circle not using pi.

oh wow, i never knew that about bookmarks, i've never seen it mentioned anywhere...

hmmm, well, i think the only time maya would crash on me is when i moved windows around between monitors (like the hypergraph/shade and render window) and if i ran out of RAM because i have xp, photoshop, msn with about 5-12 chat windows, IE and Firefox open with about 4-12 tabs open as well...

the only time it crashes for me on my pc is when i maximise the window... although it does that for other apps too. but it can't be Maya's fault because i get a balloon saying my display driver crashed and just recovered.... i imagine it's a fault with ATI
