bevel returns "fluffy" look

Hello

I had a simple cube polygon, and then I selected 4 of its edges e beveled them.

But I got this "fluffy" look when they are on shaded mode, as if their faces were curved!

Does anybody know how this will affect my final rendering? What can I do to make it look sharper?

Thanx a lot
Daniel

PS: in the image there are lots of polygons, since I duplicated the first one some times.

this might be because the edges are soften. try to use the soft/hard edges command or set the normals to face.
all located in the editPoly menu
