How do I install Maya Plug ins? Is it a case of drag and dropping it into the maya directory.?

Hi,
Put them in your plug-in directory. and then start Maya up and go to

WINDOWS>SETTINGS/PREFERENCES>PLUG IN MANAGER then select the plug-in you installed by ticking the boxes.

Thanks for the response, however i figured that out last night, though the left tick box, i think it the auto load one, will not tick and gives the error message

"The specified module can not be found"

Ahhh,
I think? I may know the problem I think??? there are
"TWO" Plug-in folders. one is usually (On Windows) in
C:\Program files\Alias (or Alias Wavefront) and the other if i remember correctly is in My Documents\Maya ---- So just check that you have the right one....

(Sorry i cannot post path as I'm not at my own PC just now)

Hehe - Just noticed you must live close(ish) to me?

Hope it works for you Scraggy

Yeah, one is called 'plugin' the other 'plug-ins' I'm pretty sure I have the right one as the other doesn't have any *.mll's in the directory, I'm just doen the road from yourself in sunny ol' St Helens.

Hi,
Sunny here too for a darn change!
I seem to remeber this problem from a while back, but I think I had the wrong directory then.
I have PM'd you, in case you are still stuck.

Good Luck Scraggy
