Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Problem rendering with texture...

I did some texturing and uv mapping on an object. Now, when I render the object it shows a see thru. I tried turning off the double sided in render stats on the object and still sees thru..is there any way to fix it? I appreciate it..thanks.

check the shader you might have the texture connected to the transparency.

dae's right, it seems that in their infinite wisdom alias have made it so that if you have an alpha channel in your texture it gets mapped to the transparency channel of the shader. I don't like it but you can just break the connection and it's fine.

Thanks for the reply guys. I already figured it out on that day..what I had was whenever I made a shader with texture file...it automatically projected 2D and 3D together. I deleted the 3D projector and works fine. I still don't know how that got there. ::stratching my head:: Any ideas of how to stop that? It does it automatically everytime I make a shader, and I have to keep going back to hypershade to delete it. There has to be a checkbox to remove the 3D projector from being added on the shader.
