Making a fish-eye lens. How?

I'm making a skateboard animation, and skateboard videos are always filmed with fish-eye lenses. Is tried using a reflective sphere in front of the camera, but then I have to aim the camera backwards from where I want to see, and I also have a specular highlight that I don't want (when I turn down the specular rolloff It doesn't reflect the image anymore). Is there another way to do it? Is there a camera setting that will fish-eye the view for me?
