Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Render Wireframe View

Hey all, i'm new to Maya and 3d and I had a question in m ind. How do you render so that the wireframes show up along with the textures? Quick response will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would like to know if this can be done also. I did a project where I need to show wireframe construction blended to full texture render. My solution was a normal render and a wireframe screen grab, which were composited in Photoshop.

I know the maya vector will render the mesh (triangulated) but it won't do the textures.

You could export your UV map then composite it onto your material map using photoshop then bring it into Maya and apply it to the model or, if you know how to use the hypershade window, you could build it in that way.

Here's a tip; you can export your UV map then process it through photoshop and bring it back into Maya as a bump map. It works great for making a model look like it's made out of panels.
