Default Seminar about 3D

I have to give a seminar about 3D on next lan-party. There will be about 100 people listening.
So it would be helpful if you could give some links where are talked about 3D. Where did it all start, who and where is it used and some good pictures and animation what are allowed to show to publik.

Thnks for all help.
