Default need poly beginner tips

i'm trying to model the face of angelina jolie, and it is excruciating as a beginner.

can u guys recommend some tips that relate to this type of polygon modelling? i'm a total beginner, thanks

I recommend the vid tutorial Basic Split Poly in the free section and there is also a great tutorial in the Archives section of the vid tutorials on modeling a head using a photo plane
