This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

UV definition

What do the U and V stand for?

They're arbitrary letters variablizing dimensions --

UVWXYZ

Texture maps are U V -- skip W -- XYZ for 3d models

I believe there were original plans for W -- haven't seen anything from it though (personally)
