Default how to make a flag

hey guys, how can i move a poly plan like a real flag moves.

Try converting it to a soft body with the orig as a goal then use springs, gravity and an air field.

Or use cloth if you have unlimited.

If you have Maya 6 (or newer) Unlimited, I think I read somewhere that the curves used in the Hair system can be used for stuff like curtains, which I guess includes flags...
