Object are Black while modeling.

Hi,

I am new to maya and I've been trying to modelize a robot.

It was going pretty well until some part of my robot were now black.

To clarify, all the new parts of my robot that I now create are black, with no lighting at all.

It makes it kind of hard to work on them...

Thank you for your help,

Hugo

select the black bits and go to normals -> reverse normals

your normals are the wrong way round user added image

Thank you a lot for your quick response !

It works perfectly for my shoulder and part of a tube,

but for the tube istelf it say "// Error: line 0: Current selection doesn't match required selection type. //
"

It's a tube made out of a nurbs primitive circle and a CV curve tool.

you need to convert the nurbs object to polys

modify -> convert then flip the normals

or if you're not ready to do that go to the surfaces menu and select reverse surface.
