Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Not too sure about the differences, theres a free PDF filethat you can get from Z brush central that gives the wotkflow between the two, dunno if it gives the defferences between PC and mac's

convert to .map

open your maya terminal.
then type:

imf_copy -p (drag your image file here) (drag it here as well, but change image name to name.map);

example:

imf_copy -p /Users/evengi/dispmaps/displacement.tif /Users/evengi/dispmaps/displacement.map;

That should do it!
Im on a mac too!
