Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Seth Luthier

Hello everyone,
I wanted to post my character Seth Luthier I designed at my school ITT technical. I created him in Maya 8 and then I used 3dmax9 for the scene because that was the course they were teaching me in this quarter.

Constructive criticism is important so please let me know what you think.user added image

I want to make the whole scene in Maya in the future for experience sake and compare the two.

When I get home, I will render the character in front of a white background so you can see more.user added image

I am at my mothers and I see what it looks like on a different computer.

The character looks ok, maybe a bnit of works needed with the topology on the body, but its hard to see without a wireframe view.

I had a look at your animation, to me you need to add some weight to him, like when hes flying its like hes floating almost weightless, not flying, some more movement of the wings and corrisponding total movement would look better. Same when he;'s landing, he just lands, no forward movement etc.

ok, i will add the weight in maya to give it that gravity feeling, or maybe max. also, I will post the wireframe view. Thank you for the constructive crit.user added image

I forgot to add, I ran out of time for the project so, the animation is not to were I would be happy. When I import to maya, I hope to have it to were it is pro.

Thanks again
