just watched it last night finally (after getting to the cinema twice to find it had sold out) and what can i say apart from Oh My God!!!
The only negative things I can say about it is that the cuts to Merry, Pippen and Treebeard are very badly timed... I mean one minute theres intense battles at helms deep which are just amazing, and then you spend 5 minutes in the forest listening to those 3 bantering.
talk about killing momentum.
also sam and frodo have a few too many nauseating "chummy" scenes. aside from that its all good imo:
Golum is incredible, the helms deep battle is incredible, liv tyler looks incredible... shall be seeing it all over again shortly

Well, I finally got around to seeing it tonight. I was kind of disappointed. The ending really strayed from the Two Towers book as far as where it ended and how it ended. IMO, they should have cut out some of the artsier scenes or Sam's pep talk monologues at the end. I did enjoy watching the Ents tear up Isengard, though. Helms Deep was cool as well as was, of course, Gollum (though his last little soliloquy bothered me).

I have to agree with Kal and Kevin now that I've seen it....the pacing and the "chummy" scenes....they kinda made me cringe. They could have made it more exciting by shortening it and still keeping the important content. Eh! It is what it is.

After one of the urrrr... hobbits said something to the tree about how if he stays away from the danger he wont be safe, but if he goes towards the danger he will be safe, the tree said
"well that doesnt make any sence!... but then again, you are small" I just started cracking up.. and couldnt stop.untill the end of the movie. And then after that.. i guess i continued laughing about it everytime i thought about it.

MAN!!! I gotta get me a screenshot of the orc army aproaching Helm's Deep with all their torches!

I think there will be a new compliment that starts being used in this forum. People will say, "Wow, your work is... Golum!"

Does anyone else keep getting distracted in both TLOTR films, by expecting Elrond to say something matrixy like "I'm going to enjoy watching you die Mr Anderson."
