Default Particles on curve flow

hi dear reader,

a question

i made a cv curve
created a curve flow on it
shaped it into how i like it

now i see the first piece of the curve has no particles on it

at the end all particles are filled up

not sure if this will help, but the 'away from center' value is set to 1. what happens if you set it to 0?
