Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Wood textures - good source or how to create

Hi all,

I've tried Filter Forge - though the images are great, it is generally only for tiling (I think) - I want to create a large, non-repeating texture.

I've googled for images and not been able to find any of a suitable size. I've also tried googling tutorials though the few I've came across aren't all that good.

Just wondered if anyone has any suggestions.

cheers,

gubar

Cheers for that. My current character is not all that suited to zbrush, but I'm gonna try some more stuff with it soon for my project.

Found a decent wood image on the net after all - tweaked it in photoshop. For the bump, difuse and specular eccentricity, I've just used a single desaturated image, but I reckon it's looking pretty good.

A couple of images if anyone is interested:

thanks,

gubar
