Default Poser to FBX import crashes

I'm using a Mac Pro, 3GHz dual, 6G memory and Maya 2008's installed.

I use the FBX Converter to change a Poser figure to FBX and try to import it into Maya, but after a minute or so of displaying the spinning beach ball, Maya crashes.

Here's the rub: Even though M's Plugin Manager shows that the fbxmaya.bundle is installed and loaded, I cannot find any plugins in any folder that are fbx-maya-related; like the fbx2008.11 (or some such number) that I downloaded AND installed!

Also, the FBX Plugin Guide tells me to find a file (fbxmaya.lib) in the Plugin Manager, but there is NO such file! Just the .bundle file.

Can anybody help me out w/this?

Thank you a whole bunch...

Adrian

I think that if youve downloaded and ran the latest fbx plug in from autodesk then it should be ok, so dunno why its not working for you.

If you export form maya as a fbx you get the options for the different formats, but on import it just finds the version that your using and applies that.

Default Poser to Maya

Thanks for your reply. I haven't tried an export to FBX from Maya, but I will.

In any case, how come the maya plugin folders do not show any plugins?

Dunno, maybe its how it works on a mac, but if I go to my plug ins folder there all there.

Maybe. Anyway, thanks again and I really like the "No pressure, etc." phrase!
