Default X-Ray Shader

Can someone give me some basic setting to create an X-ray style shader?
Something like what you see in the following link...

Use a sampler info, plug that into the ramp node set the collors, and use V direction.
the ramp node in to the collor of the material node.
plug that same sampler info into a new ramp node but change the collor to black and white smooth, V direction.
And plug this in to your transparant map.

Also try to read the manual to see what node dose what, to learn what you are working with.
