Forum_snowboarder33 this is looking like a very nice project see your a detail frrek like me also the steering wheel is awsome .............is all this polys??

im doing it all in nurbs... makes it easier to do the details

i did project curve on nurbs surface, and the duplicated the surface so that i could trim the outside piece out (leaving the little grip) and on the other duplicated surface, i cut out the little grip. This way i would leave one surface that looked seemless, but it was in two parts. After getting these two surfaces, i just moved the little grip down, along with this outside curve. Then just simply lofted the two curves together.. and donedee. Hope this helps a bit.
