This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i
Well as for now, i dont believe there's a true SSS solution available for us Maya users . www.lightengine3d.com has a beta test of a plugin that alows SSS through a new shader, but it is limited to one lightsource and a 320*240 (or something like that) output resolution. I found it was possible to fake it, (with fast render times, that image might have taken 3 mins i think) using mental rays volumetric shaders. :
you could e.g. try this melscript from the author behind the G.I.Joe script... --> https://www.pixho.com
click on the "toolbox"... select "mel scripts" an go down to where it says... "subSurfIllum shader mel script" to download it...
here is also a bit more info about it.... --> https://www.3dluvr.com/pixho/toolbox/...lum_shader.htm
