Has anyone ever had a model you just CAN'T subdiv?

I have this polygonal model. It smooths out just fine. But it won't subdiv.

At all.

No error message, no directions telling me what to do, it just doesn't do it. I highlight it as an object, go to Modify-Convert-Polygons to Subdiv. Nothing happens. At all. I highlight other models. Try it. They subdiv just fine. In fact, I press g to subdiv every model. Up until this annoying model, which just won't subdiv at all. I can't figure it out, and it's driving me crazee.

Anyone who's had this problem before, help is much appreciated. Maya object of it supplied on request. ^__^

Are you sure it's not giving you an error that displays in lower right in the help line? Usually, it'll tell you what's wrong in the Script Editor window. Usually, you need to increase the division (or whatever it is... I don't have it in front of me) in the convert to SubDiv options.

If your division surface amount isnt the problem, chances are you need to do a Polygon>Cleanup then sub D

I did a cleanup and a history delete prior to asking, but thanks ^^.

Fortunately, mtmckinley was right on the money, the maximum subdivs option needed to be higher. Thank you so much, you guys are so fast. =)
