Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Boolean/Placement Problems

In Maya 4, i used a boolean extract on a cylinder to creat a hollow one for my Mecha WIP. However in doing so the object(highlighted in green) is created, and its how i want it, however the controls for the selected object are at the origin, and so it its local center. If i try and scale it its centered at the origin and not in the center of the object. Resulting in weird effects i would not expect and would not normally occur.

I was wondering if you could see i did something wrong to warrant the misplacement of its center, and how can i relocate it back to the center of the object?

you can manually move a pivot by hitting the insert key and then translating it around and then push insert again to fix it's pos.
