Default Add Contrast to Vertex Colors

I hope I am posting this in the correct area. This deals with the vertex colors or vertex lighting in Maya 5.0. Didn't see an area dedicated to game related topics....anyway.....

I have created a model and baked in the color using poly lighting and then tweaking the colors of the individual verts. I am wondering if there is a tool, mel script or technique to increase the contrast in the vert colors of the overall model besides doing them all over again or using the paint vertex color tool. Any suggestions would be most beneficial....thanks a ton for the help in speeding this up for me.
