Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Cheers for your thoughts guys it is much appreciated. I had hoped to go for the oversized look but think I am going to have to reduce the upper body to get the proportions looking better.

Many thanks,

Leon

Got his Emblem on there as well.

I was going to do some work on Spiderman but have realized I have made a huge mistake and deleted both Spiderman and Batman from my external hard drive a few weeks back and have no back up of them. If anyone has any suggestions as to good software that might be able to recover them it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Leon

Wow, that looks really good. The only thing that looks weird is the eyes, they just don't seem to fit in. user added image

Thanks for the comments guys it is much appreciated. Am a bit livid at the moment since it seems I have lost spiderman and batman although I have managed to get the low res of batman back so all is not lost. Hopefully I will be able to get them looking a lot better though if I re-do them so I will try and look at it as a good thing.

These are looking pretty good, but a common problem among your sculpts is that your final model looks just like your base mesh + high frequency detail. Don't skip to the highest resolution and start painting in veins and all that if the fundamental forms of the muscles aren't there yet.

Try to work iteratively, subdivide, sculpt, subdivide, sculpt, etc. It's just too fluid and mushy - but no worries, it's an easy fix and most people do it when they first start sculpting.

I totally agree with Funky!

Work your way through the resolution, make sure that your mesh is all proportioned correctly, and that you have the form nailed.

I like your model, though it is out of proportion, he seems a bit too short compared to his width.

Also, I can see you know your anatomy, but a few areas seems... well... weird! Especially his head and shoulders.
For Example: The Sternomastoid should run from the inner lower neck (where the clavicles meet) and should run up the length of the neck, and behind the ears, where it attaches to the skull.

On your model, it seems to run up from the Clavicles, and straight over the Trapezius to the Back...

Also, they're are a few other areas that are slightly off, but nothing to extreme!

Anyway, I like the texture you have on him, and the modeling pretty sweet too!

Nice work!

*EDIT* Also , after looking at the images some more. It appears that the Legs seems an entire resolution behind the rest of the body.

Also, the feet are too small, and seem to be oddly shaped.

"Yes."

Will try to make some adjustments soon to get the proportions better. The legs still need the webbing done and a lot of tweaking. Thanks to funky bunny and mayaniaic for the point about working my way through the resolution as this is something I was doing without noticing and hopefully I will be able to get things a lot better by resolving this. With regards to the feet I went for a totally different shape and will post a closer view to give a better idea once I have made some tweaks.

Thanks for your thoughts on my work it is much appreciated as it will go a long way to helping me improve.

Many thanks,

Leon

Had a chance to try and get things looking better. Try to ignore the inner mouth and tongue since they have no textures as of yet.

Cheers,

Leon

Re modeled the base mesh for the hulk and think the proprtions are a lot better now. I have begun sculpting although there is a lot of work to do especially on the hands which I am yet to start on.
