Default Positional tolerance reset..?

Hello

I change my positional tolerance in preferences > Settings to 0.01 (millimeters). When i restart Maya, then it happens. it gets to 0.1 sometime i noticed it goes to 1.0 and not that often it went to 20.0.
Is there a solution for that plz?
Tnx

I guess you could save your preferences and when you start a new scene just load them, otherwise that should not happen when you load a scene where you have changed that already... I think at least.
