You should try doing this photorealistic style of drawing and apply it to a more Dali type setting cause that would be amazing.

About the Dali style, I have seen alot of it ( Monty Python and the Holy Grail is a good example ) . It would take time to adjust to it's style. It's really subconscious stuff, and lighting and texture has alot to do with it's style. I don't know if I can successfully blend photorealistic with Dali. LOL, my stuff might look like crap-o-rama.
