Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Dissolving

Heya everyone,

I'm quite an advanced user with Maya, but I have no clue as to how to create this: https://forcg.com/index.php?id=1&did=1&rid=19 in Maya??!!

I've done it several times in Max, but Max works very different with materials.

So my question is:

Does anybody now a good tutorial, or can explain to me how it is supposed to be done?

Thx in advance!

Grtz from Holland

Use an animated ramp to control the transparancy of the object and then use another animated ramp to emit particles, match the animations of the ramps so that the object dissapears as particles are bien emitted.

Then either change the colour of the particles to match the object or bake a colour map of the obeject to emit the particles from.
