I don't know what causes this problem, but it has happened to me before.... and still does. Just go back into edge mode, and select a whole bunch of edges randomly (including the edges that are defective) then simple deselect them. Now when you go back into object mode it should be fine. At least that's how it works for me.

Yeah, I have this problem as well. One way you could get around it is by making a mel script that will select all edges, then deselect all edges. Then bind that to a hot key. Far from intuitive, but it works.

tanks for replay guys, but everytime I can not go to component mode and select all edges and deselect them again, this is to much work and hasselt, specially when I am working on charchter modeling, mostly I am working with edges , extrude the edges is the tool that I am using most of the time, happened only with edges,

that must be some why to get ride of this problem,
anymore opinion volk?

tnx

Not that I have come across. This seems to be a problem with Maya's core selection, not with a some settings. I guess we just have to wait it out.

That won't help, as when he's working on it again, it will continue doing it.

TBH, it's not that bad of an issue, and at most it takes 3 secs to correct it... I just ignore it.

I know its takes 3 sec to fix it, but I work with alot of edges, that is means that every time I select the next edge I should spend 3 sec to fix it, I have 1200 edge to extrude, so how much time I need to fix it?

any idea?

As I posted above. Create a mel script, and then bind it to a hotkey.
