Default Autumn Challenge - some kind of detective guy

I think i will do some die hard bruce willis inspired detective. I also like the idea of him having a dog... not sure why, seems computer game cheesier, which is what i'm doing!
I shall attempt to do this with an upper limit of 10k tris (not including the dog!)

I imagine him with a shotgun, not the pump action kind tho.

making a start now, will update in an hour or so.

The topology looks just fine just some small tiny tweaking and will be finished i think

Looks good man.

Be careful with the smooth mesh preview, as your aiming for a game model your going to want each poly to hold it's own as well as possible. And the smoothing can misguide you on how the mesh is actually looking... sometimes making you over edit sections, and sometime under-editing them, and not using each poly to it's full potential.

Unless this is going to be a high-res that you will retopo?

this is at 3604 tri's so far, i think this low res thing is fairly straight forward so far.

not happy with the topology to link the hands and arms so i will redo it tomorrow.

did a bit more, but gonna rework some of the topology, around the hips, groin and legs. i'll be able to do some more after work this week.

started on one of the weapons,

Its a kukri - they are pretty cool tools, plus a mate of mine is a Gurkha, so its an homage to him.

model, render, textured in 2 1/2 hours.

(the maps aren't finished but will do for tonight. The render settings are really low for these which is why they are blotchy.
