Default problem with subdivs ((maya 2009))

i have problem with the subdivs
when i convert the polygons to subdivs the program stop work and give me the ((FATAL ERROR)) Tips
any one Know this problem??

Seems like your computer has problems with the software. Try reinstalling Maya, as it may have been corrupted.
Imagination is more important than knowledge.

According to me there is geometry problem . The clean up tool does not actually clean up your geometry. It won't fix it for you. Perhaps you may get solution of your problem.
