Default Apple buys AW?

There was speculation a while ago about AW being bought out by Apple. Silicon Graphics owns AW would this mean Apple buys Silicon Graphics?

If such a thing were to happen what would the implications be for Maya? As a Mac fan and with the new IBM 970 chips on the horizon would this make Maya on the Mac a more delightful experience?

Just speculating!

I asked my connection at ALias about this not so long ago... and here was his reply

"These storys ALWAYS rise, It seems no matter what we say, people will always love a good rumour. These storys are simply not true"

---------------------------------------------

So maybe he was just not telling me the truth or just didnt want to say..but I guess we will have to wait for something more concrete.

(but ill keep asking )

I don't even want to speculate. I hope they will never purchase AW and/or SG. It would be a death sentence to the Apps. Just look what happened to RAYZ, Chalice and Shake for example...

From www.apple.com
Shake 3 will be available for Mac OS X for a suggested retail price of $4,950 (US), and for Linux and IRIX for a suggested retail price of $9,900 (US) with an annual maintenance of $1485 (US).
Where is the Windows version? Heck, I can't even purchase the old Windows version...

*Edit*
Btw, noticed the pricing?

I FULLY agree with Kbrown.

It would be ANOTHER death sentence for an awsome app.

I won't happen in the near future I'm sure, but if it ever does, I would jump ship back to max

..of course, I hate Apple, and everything they stand for, but that's just my stupid opinion hehe...

Half the world hate M$ and the other half hate Apple! Are Apple as aggressive as M$? I always thought that Apple were the innovators and M$ nicked there ideas. Horses for courses I suppose, people pick their OS and shutup!

I just find using and configuring Macs easier... Ooops I said I was goona shutup.

Kev m8 where's my stick of rock then?

Wow...we really hate macs dont we guys

To be honest they are a pain in the ass... I cant for the life of me imagine why someone would waste all that money on a heap of crap like that when they could buy 3 decent pcs for the same cost :saywhat:

Still ...they just must be loaded with cash!
