About This Course

NURBs Surfacing Tools - BIRAIL

This is a short tutorial on how to use Maya's Birail1 and Birail2 surfacing tools in response to a recent user inquiry. Maya's NURB's toolset can generate very clean and infinately scalable surfaces. NURBs curves networks can beused to create extremely complex surfaces and is used extensively in industrial design from vehicle to cellphone design. The NURB's surfaces can also be easily converted to polygons or subd's so their value to the polygon and subd modeler should not be over looked. This tutorial is intended for people that have no idea what the Mental Ray Approximation Editor is. If your sitting there thinking what on earth is it, then watch this. This tutorial is free to all, if you would like to open an account at SimplyMaya please use the register link at the top of every page.
