CPS not updating

I'm having a problem with CPS. I'm having to click an update button in the bottom right hand corner of the viewport to get the proxy mesh to update rather than it updating automatically.

How can I turn automatic update back on?

Found the problem, in case anyone else was wondering the fix was : Windows > Settings/Preferences > Performance Settings and change the Dependency graph evaluation option to release or drag.
