1992 Honda Prelude - Game Model

Sup? Been a while ;D

I haven't touched Maya in about a year, but now I'm picking it back up, at the moment, I'm working on a model for Test Drive Unlimited. A 1992 4th generation Honda Prelude ;D


This will probably be the first model I actually complete, because I have some initiative.

Anyways, here's the first bit of progress.

(Wheel texture is only there 'till I can get a new one painted)

@Hybrid - Only good Honda was the NSX :p I actually hate honda, but someone requested this one and it seemed easy :p

Whats the poly count limit n how will you deal with amount of polys on the wheels ?normal maps?

I have no idea what the limits are for this game, but I'll be keeping this under 100,000 polies as other mods I've seen are around 110k-120k


No idea how I'll be dealing with the wheels yet :p

can i see a wire...looks like there are some polys you can get rid of to keep your count low and still get the same results...other then that though it s looking good

Can't give a wire right now cause I'm not at home, but to give you an idea of how it is, I'm modeling it right now as if it's for still shots, then before I smooth it I'll be going around taking off every edgeloop that doesn't need to be there, then after I smooth it I'm gonna go around and do that again

Model looks great so far acid! How did you manage to do the texture(kind of a gloss with sparkles in it)?

Thanks. The shader is just a mental ray Car_Paint_Phen or whatever it's called and a bit of tweaking... not quite used to it yet though :p

Murals? As in decals and such?

If that's what you mean then, there's at least 3.5 versions of this car planned:

1. JDM (Japanese Domestic Market)

2. ADM (American Domestic Market)

3. Ricer (Also known as "boy-racer", in some places)

3.5. Ricer Skin Pack - Pretty much planning to make a few different skins for it, such as, Monster Energy, Alienware, ect.

EDIT: Exterior nearly complete/new renders.

Program for renders is called Keyshot, bloody amazing, look into it!

Yeh Im old remember...LOL...Murals/Decals etc. In my day (Holden HQ V8 Panel Van...lovely care) murals were the airbrushed artwork on the paintjob...so they werent exactly decals.
