i just want to know how to make fur to fur shadowing in maya more realistic? i have tested to make a scene: a sphere and a cone with different fur description, i made a spotlight and activated the fur shadowing, i rendered it and saw that the shadows that was from the fur of the cone to the fur of the sphere is not very visible or let say it is in a shade of lght gray.

thanx

oh sorry, thats meant to be light attributes, lol, was tired at the time of writing, soz

have you attached the light to the fur? cos if you have, then the self shade options are in the light fur attributes

yes i've already did that. i've repeated the scene 5 times.
seems that alias has to address this problem.

how weird, cos usually the self shade option wud change that for you, or try using a different type of shadow map

Change your fur shading attributes under your Spotlight's Attributes from self-shade to shadow mapping. Also, make sure that fur shadows are enabled under the Fur Globals.
