Hi,
when zooming or panning, it sometimes seems to start slowing down, so that even when you are moving the mouse in broad strokes across the mouse mat, the viewport is hardly moving.

Is this normal?

THanks.

It's not normal, no, unless you have a heavy scene. If you feel your mouse is working fine it may be a video driver issue.

siom every now and thin I have that happen. It dosn't last though. Normaly just moving around to a difrent part of the sean. It only happens with me when I'm rather close to the object. And its not video card related.

Well it's strange, i've never experienced it.

it means that maya's focus is on another object. Select something near the centre of the viewport and hit f and that should make the camera rotate around that point instead (and at a normal speed/amount)

It could also mean that you need to delete your history, If you happy with what you have,,,dump it, History is only good if you want to go back and change something.:)

Edit -> delete by type / or something else -> history :) btw: if you have a heavy scene, try reducing faces and paint effects, if not, try downloading the latest vid cards.

Thanks for the replies. I don't get the feeling it's due to slowdown though, I have a pretty good computer for one thing.

I figured maybe it was some kind of built in feature of Maya, to help move more precisely when you get close to an object, because as Pony said it does tend to happen when you get close to an object.

I sometimes find it annoying though.
