When setting keys especially with a character moving his body (feet and root) I key each one of the foot controls as well as the root each time I want to set a key. You are correct about making sure the keys are clamped, this alone helps with the slipping.

Do you use auto key?

Think about it in this way.. for your character to move correctly his root and feet need to move together as one, so when moving a character say is walking/jumping you have to make sure that all 3 sections are keyed at the same spot if all three are not keyed at the same point you will get a slip effect.

Its a bit hard to explain in words took me a while to get it under my belt... this problem only really happens to me when im doing a walk and forget to key the three togther when its not cycled. I just make sure I Key the feet and root each time my character moves forward. I actually key not just auto key for the three sections.

If you can't figure out what i mean let me know and i'll make a quick tut to help out.

LOL very funny...nice work man!

btw, where'd you learn to draw concept art like that? really good!

mtmckinley 18-02-2004 05:37 PM

heh, well, Howard's a professional comic book artist, so it's no surprise his concept work would be pretty killer. :)

thanx guys!- spekkio- mikes right, I draw comics during the day, but at night I learn Maya from Mike and Kurt: via the videos on this site (shameless plug:)) I have been drawing my entire life and studied illustration in college. I still have along way to go, art is a lifetime journey.

tonight I gave him a gun and a cigar, whats a soprano-type guy without those anyway?

edit: I cant add pics no more?

here is a little bit of a setting for em'

I have no idea why I picked this concept, what the heck does a meatball have to do with fighting anyhow. My only excuse is that I was ill and on cold pills... err, yeah thats it:nervous:

oh well.
