Forum_snowboarder33 - really nice render!

Are you using advanced tessellation? If not go to windows>general editors>attribute spreadsheet with all your nurbs selected you can play with the tessellation attributes. I find that upping the default levels for all nurbs is a good start.

looking forward to more!

BabyDuck 07-06-2003 09:50 AM

nice bottle. but the valve - why do you turn it to the left to close and to the right to open??

here is a new desktop i made using some parts from my car... what do you guy think? Sorry 56kers.. its a bit big

I-Iybrid 07-06-2003 10:42 PM

My idea of course :D Looks awsome tho man. The lighting on the laying down NOS tank handle looks abit wierd.

Forum_snowboarder33 07-06-2003 10:52 PM

I wanted the lighting that way.. so i made a plane out of camera sight.. with a slit in it for the light to pass through.. thats why it seems to be only lit on half of it.

Aerlinger 08-06-2003 12:09 AM

Are the disk brakes supposed to be that wide?? I'm not fully sure, but they look quite wide to me. Otherwise, VERY nice work.

Forum_snowboarder33 10-06-2003 02:10 PM

pretty cool !!!
how did you do that (see the pic) with NURBS ????

Forum_snowboarder33 10-06-2003 03:25 PM

i did project curve on nurbs surface, and the duplicated the surface so that i could trim the outside piece out (leaving the little grip) and on the other duplicated surface, i cut out the little grip. This way i would leave one surface that looked seemless, but it was in two parts. After getting these two surfaces, i just moved the little grip down, along with this outside curve. Then just simply lofted the two curves together.. and donedee. Hope this helps a bit.

Looking nice but I have a question on this part.. is it supposed to be like that?

Forum_snowboarder33 11-06-2003 10:19 PM

no.. i don't really know why it does that.. i will fix it though... just some something out of wack i guess.

Bigfat 11-06-2003 10:27 PM

What methods did you use to get the fine fence like look out of the front intake and stuff (the little holes)

EagleKing 11-06-2003 10:34 PM

damn it is looking great so far.
are you going to texture ie or only simple shaders?

Forum_snowboarder33 12-06-2003 04:11 AM

BigFat: I used poly cubes at 30 or so degrees to eachother.. then booleaned them together using union (its the only poly i have on the car, besides some of the bolts)
EagleKing: I will be doing some textures for the outside of the car, but at a later time. I just do it on the interior so people can get a general look of it.

Here is another angle to show what it looks like from the outside of the car. Don't worry about the exterior, since i haven't really started to correct that yet.:2gunfire:

Vectorman 12-06-2003 05:28 AM

i hope you could get out an animation Fast and the furious style when ur done!

I-Iybrid 12-06-2003 06:54 PM

Yea, I agree w/Vec. You can use my car too, forum ;). One crit tho....the dashboard. The blue part is too....plasticy looking. But other than that, keep up the work man!

brian_ellebracht 12-06-2003 07:18 PM

Can't wait till you increase the Tessilation of your nurbs! That will get rid of all of your hard edges. Love the interior!
Brian
