heh thanks,
I'll be posting it on my website and linking it from here when it's finished (if it gets finished :) try to save the bandwidth on the site ;) for now here's another image http://www.rostoons.co.uk/wip/ambocc...mbo02small.jpg Large image here |
Looks great rostoons,
Im loving the poses. |
awsome man!!! I love how its building up... ;)
|
started modelling again, only a few pieces left, trying to get them out of the way as quick as possible.
the diamond now has a stand and is positioned in the case. Ignore the lasers for the time being they're just temporary. http://www.rostoons.co.uk/wip/diamondincase.jpg http://www.rostoons.co.uk/wip/diamondstand.jpg |
eeeghh a double post, ah well, making some progress today. The picture lights and diamond lights have been modelled and placed in the museum. Also i've started to finish off the tools modelling. This is the mace, which isn't going to be used by the character but will be seen littering the floor in one of the scenes.

loving the mase man looks really cool.
your chainsaw looks alot like a curtain promo poster of a fav zombee game of mine but I dont mind. you started animating yet (tick tock tick tock tick tock) |
great modeling very clean n cartoony!!! u have a good style indeed!!
Cant wait to sit back n watch this animation good luck pal :) |
Thanks magicsy and tweetytunes
I haven't started animating yet, cutting it quite fine but it'll happen ;) What promo poster do you mean Neil? got any pics? |
Here you go.
As soon as I saw the image I thought of this poster. It really does show how good the modeling on it is, it looks real and chartoony all at the same time time well done. any way heres a quick photoshop job to prove my point well done and shame on you with the lack of animation (tut tut) work harder :p http://www.ravage3d.com/images/dales_chainsaw.jpg |
heh nice composite there, though any similarities are coincidental...honest
Anywhoo it's update time. Today i've been modelling the anvil, in one scene of the film the character suspends an anvil above the case and drops it from a great height. The anvil then cracks and breaks apart. Image 1 - the anvil before it is damaged http://rostoons.co.uk/wip/anvilnoncracked.jpg Image 2 - the anvil with cracks http://rostoons.co.uk/wip/anvilcracked.jpg Click here for a short animation test to show you what i'm talking about. |
That's pretty cool, how'd you animate the cracks?
|
thanks anhslaught, essentially the cracks were animated by setting up a few blendshapes where the edges move in towards the centre of the geometry. It also allows me to control the speed in which the cracks appear.
here is the latest render of the tools. Still a couple left to be modelled. http://www.rostoons.co.uk/wip/toolscompilation03.jpg |
HELP!!
I've finished modelling the bag today (modelling almost done :attn: ) Only thing is i'm not really sure how to animate the zip opening up. If anyone has any ideas they'd be more than welcome, essentially all I want is for the zip to come apart as the zipper is pulled down the bag.
Here are some images to show you what I mean. http://www.rostoons.co.uk/wip/bag01.jpg http://www.rostoons.co.uk/wip/bag02.jpg |

well I see 2 ways of doing it the second I`m shocked you did not come up with.
1) just animate the zip part and not the teeth and angle the shot so you don`t see them (something like the lame image I just did (see below) but with this you would have to model a second open bag 2) Remove the zip part for now and blend shape the top of bag and the teeth apart (like the cracks you did on the anvil) and then render the zip seperlatly and composit over the top |
