Hi guys, I've decided that I'd work on my hard surface modeling skills :)

So, here's what i've got so far (working in Modo as of now, I'll take it to Maya soon though ;))

image- the front of the binding. very beginning ;)

looks good!

but the binding you lost yesterday was better :(

anyway

good job!:attn:

i hope to see it finished, lol

-Andy:beer:

i dont really know anything about skiis, so i cannot critique it :(

now that I think about it, I must have been crazy modeling what I was. It's about as far away from a binding as anything. After a long day of skiing (and patting myself on the back for successfully landing a 360 iron cross and a grind on the monster 7 foot rainbow rail ;)), I now know what the binding should look like :)

I've stripped down some images for refs :)

This would be a freestyle binding (it's very close to the one on my freestyle skiis, and that's the reference that I'm using for my modeling.

This would be a kind of race bindind. I have something similar on my GS Race skiis

I'm going for the first one, though gonna add some elements of the second one to it :)

not much to say atm. It looks good. The centerpeice thing needs a bit more detail when comparing to the picture. It also looks a bit flat. it needs to bulge out more.

Keep it up :)

MattTheMan 18-12-2006 10:06 PM

thanks :)

i've detailed the centerpeice a little bit (the hole things and a gap in the middle ;) Not sticking to the origional design, I'm improvising here and there
