One question...

Just a quick question....probably gonna take about two seconds to answer, but it's been bothering me for the past two weeks.

How do I create a really convincing starfield in Maya?

1. pfx brush (galaxy i think)

2. paint texture in photoshop/find photo of starfield

3.use multiple planes with transp maps on a black BG for a sense of motion

Thanks, I'll give some of those a shot. As it stands now...I had a big cube and each face was mapped with a starfield picture...but it always looked blurry.

that could be due just to your image not being high-resolution enough. for a panoramic backround it's got to be EXTREMELY hi-res to look very good. maybe try and find some hi-res hubble photos or somehting. i remember finding a database of those at NASA.gov a while back...
