Animation Sliders

In Max you have the capability to create a slider for you animation, .. You move the slider and the joint and the character in the scene moves also !

Does maya has the same options ?

If you mean a slider that controls the joint's rotation/translation/scale, it can be done with mel.
Look up the 'window' command in the manual, that's the function that does interfaces, I think it's a good start.

... don't have time ... got to go ...

re animation sliders

Hi there,

I'm assuming that your not refering to the MMB (middle mouse button) function on ANY channel in the channel box????? i.e. Dragging back and forth to change a parameter, etc...

but,

a mix of the above technique plus what I think in Max is reffered to as "Wiring Parameters".

If so then,

Maya's name for the 'procedural setup' is called dynamic attributes.

The add attribute function is found under the Modify menu.

You could select an object and add a new attribute, then use the Set Driven Key function found under animation menu and wire the attribute to the SDK function.

Hope this helps

Go to AW and dowload attribCol.mel (Atribute collector).

Select AALLLL the channels u want to create sliders and the click on the mel script button u have created when u load attribCol.mel on your shelves.

The best animation help tool u will find, no matter what u are animating!!!

Ok here is the script from me in *.zip format from me ...u finally don't have to go to AW!!!
